The author is an engineer by profession. Till date 23 books (Novels, Short story collections, Translated books, Children books, book on science etc), written by him were published. He has written about 200 scientific articles, about 350 short stories in different newspapers, magazines etc. He currently contributes as a regular science and feature writer in three daily news papers, one bimonthly and two monthly magazines. About twenty novels (Including four novels which were serialized in two different magazines and two different newspapers), thirty novelettes were published in magazines and special issues etc. About fifty children writings including novels, short stories, scientific articles etc , about fifty articles relating to social, cultural and political issues, some book reviews etc. are published in different news papers, periodicals etc. He translated six books (two scientific book and four classics) from English. He received Best novel prize for the novel “Pratyavartan” in ‘All Assam Novel Competition’ organized by Dainik Asom in 1987. A full-length feature film by the same name was also made based on the novel. He granted permission to several other authors to translate and publish short stories into various languages such as English, Hindi, Telegu etc, which were published. Four TV serials were made based on his four novels. Two of them are in Hindi. He also worked as co-writer in a concise encyclopaedia, science encyclopaedia, book of records etc.
